Services

Schools and academies will be provided with professional HR advice and the direct support necessary for dealing with complex and difficult HR matters relating to all employees. (Teachers and Single Status terms and conditions).

Schools and academies will also be provided with Learning & Development to all levels of employees, including training for Governors. All development offered can be tailored to meet the needs and objectives of the school/academy.

Our specific services are as follows:

Performance Management

  • Advice and support on individual performance management issues (disciplinary, capability and grievance) including investigation/procedural advice and drafting of associated letters and reports.
  • Advice and support for presenting officer(s) and/or Chair of hearing.
  • Attendance at appropriate Governors’ forum for any hearing which may lead to dismissal.
  • Advice and support on all issues of termination including drafting of associated letters.
  • Advice and support with appeal hearings, including drafting of associated letters and reports.
  • Advice and support on all sickness issues, including monitoring long term and frequent absence and drafting of associated letters and reports.
  • Advice and support for the arrangement of medical referrals and liaison with appropriate medical provider.
  • Advice and guidance in relation to Employment Tribunals in association with the Customer legal advisors.
  • As required, advice/support in consulting with trade unions in all performance issues.
  • Provide regular updates on Employment Law.
  • Advice and support on staff related safeguarding issues including drafting of associated letters.

Change Management

  • Advice and support to the Senior Leadership Team on the implications of proposed changes to employees’ terms and conditions of services, organisational changes (restructuring) and agreements relating to redeployment/redundancy.
  • Advice and support on TUPE (Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment)) including in the context of Academisation.
  • Advice and support on the communication strategy for any associated change issues.
  • Advice and support (where appropriate) on consultation with trade unions.
  • Advice and support in preparing/delivering change management presentation to various forums.
  • Drafting associated documentation in respect of change management issues.
  • Advice support (where appropriate) in determining the criteria for nominating redeployees.
  • Advice and support on the implementation/monitoring/evaluation for any associated change issues.
  • A guarantee to be present at any meeting, as required.

Conditions of Service

  • Providing regular updates as required based on changes in legislation.
  • Advice and support on applying conditions of service as determined by the Customer.
  • Advice and support on the implementation of national salary awards.
  • Advice and support on implementation of conditions of service at local level as required.
  • Advice and support on implementation of pay structure changes.
  • Advice and support on School Teachers Pay and Conditions Document (STPCD).

Grading & Pay Structure

  • Advice and support on the customer’s pay and performance policy.
  • Support any consultation processes in respect of this issue.
  • Advice and support at the School Pay committee.
  • Advice and support on the development of the pay structure for the customer’s leadership team.

Recruitment & Selection

  • Advice and support on Job Design of roles within the Customer organisation.
  • Advice and support on the production of job descriptions/person specifications.
  • Advice and support on selection processes (E.g. Interviews, testing, presentations, etc.).
  • Job Grading
  • Advice and support in drafting associated documentation in respect of recruitment.
  • Support and attendance at Recruitment panels, where required.
  • Job Descriptions and Person Specificiations

Employee Relations

  • Advice and support on existing/new Employee Relations Agreements between the Customer and recognised trade unions and provide guidance on all related matters (including, disputes, industrial relations, etc.).
  • Advice and support in relation to Facilities Time for recognised trade unions.
  • Advice and support and, where appropriate, involvement with trade union consultation.
  • At the request of the School or Academy be present at any meetings involving trade union representation or support any preparation/planning of associated meetings.
